Outliers — Finding your best-performing content

1 min read Verified Guide

Discover videos that dramatically outperform your channel average

What are Outliers?

An outlier is a video that got significantly more (or fewer) views than a channel typically receives. Identifying outliers helps you understand what topics and formats resonate most with your audience — and with the YouTube algorithm.

How to use the Outliers page

1. Navigate to Outliers in the Discovery section

2. Enter any YouTube channel URL (your own or a competitor's)

3. VidAnalyze calculates the channel's median view count and surfaces videos performing 3x above that baseline

4. Click any outlier video to see its full metadata, tags, and thumbnail

Study competitor outliers to find proven content angles. Replicate the topic with your own perspective — this is one of the most reliable growth strategies on YouTube.
