What it does
The Viewer Retention Analyzer takes input from your YouTube Studio retention data and identifies the specific moments where viewers drop off, re-watch sections, or skip ahead. It then gives actionable recommendations to fix each problem.
Inputs required
- Your video's retention graph data (exported from YouTube Studio)
- Video duration and average view duration
- Optional: transcript to correlate drop-off moments with content
What you get
- Hook Drop-off Score — How many viewers left in the first 30 seconds
- Midpoint Valley Detection — Identifies where the video loses momentum
- Replay Spike Analysis — Sections people rewatched (= what they loved most)
- CTA Retention — Did viewers stay for your call to action?
This tool requires you to manually input retention data from YouTube Studio. Direct Studio integration is coming in a future update.
